Enlightened Eating in Confusing Times: Making Wise Choices in an Era of Contradictions

Nutrition in an age of globalization. The straight goods on food safety. The whole truth on whole grains. Benefits and risks of seafood. Food versus supplements. These are just some of the issues that Rosie Schwartz, registered dietitian and food and nutrition advocate,  discussed at a  presentation in April 2008 at the Okanagan College’s main lecture theatre.

Ms. Schwartz is the best-selling author of several books including The Enlightened Eater’s Whole Foods Guide. She is a sought-after nutrition consultant, lecturer and broadcaster. In her weekly column, The Enlightened Eater, she translates the science of nutrition into healthy and delicious fare. She is also a spokesperson for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and a frequent commentator on radio and television.

“Enlightened Eating in Confusing Times: Making Wise Choices in an Era of Contradictions” was the third talk in the Science in Society Speaker Series sponsored by Okangan College and the Okanagan Science Centre.
